Martin Geiger, Associate Professor of Human Migration and Mobility, Department of Political Science and Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, Carleton University, Canada. Ph.D. 2011, University of Bonn (Germany). Dr. Geiger is a Member of the Steering Committee of the International Metropolis Network, a global network of practitioners and experts on migration, and an Honorary Member of the Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Studies (IMIS), University of Osnabrueck, Germany’s leading migration research center. His research expertise lies in the field of global migration governance, talent mobility, and the role of international organizations and private businesses in mobility and migration. Part of his work has explored the link between talent mobility and other flows of human capital and the development of countries, the contribution of migration and mobility to poverty reduction, and the importance of managed migration for achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
